1893 - 1981 Daughter of James Connolly. Later Nora Connolly-O'Brien. A lifleong Republican she assisted with the Howth gun-running operation in 1914. Also assisted Liam Mellows in his return to Ireland after escaping from an english gaol (Reading) in 1916. Smuggled dispatches to the Belfast volunteers from Padraig Pearse during the 1916 Rising. After the execution of her father following the Rising she went to America to discuss the situation in the Homeland with Clann na Gael. Returned to Ireland in 1917 despite an order against her returning to the country. Married Seamus O'Brien in 1922. Became Paymaster-General of the IRA in 1923 when Margaret Skinnider was arrested. Was imprisoned by the free state in multiple gaols. Became a member of the Irish Senate in 1926 and served three terms. Took part in political debates throughout her life. Also went to rallies in support of the H-block prisoners for as long as she was able. She passed away in the same year as the hunger strikes took place.
