16 March, 1988 Volunteer Caoimhin MacBradaigh, Civilian John Murray, Civilian Thomas McErlean... On 16 March, 1988, three men were gunned down by a loyalist shooter while attending the funeral of the Gibralter Three. The loyalist also launched grenades at the mourners who were there to honour the dead so recently killed, while unarmed, by british soldiers. Of the three men killed at the funeral, only one was an IRA Volunteer. They are all remembered by the community however.
