Member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood. Asissted in co - ordinating the guerilla attacks against the british between 1916 and 1921. He was a member of the Irish delegation that gave up the North to the brits. He was killed by a sniper in an ambush during a visit to Cork in an attempt to negotiate a truce with DeValera and those resisting the Free - State forces.
