A battle at Oulart hill that became one of the beginnings of the Rebellion of 1798. A group of rebels with only about 40 to 50 arms took on a force of yeomen and N. Cork militia which consisted of 110 men. The rebels were led by Fr. John Murphy and lost only 6 men.
