 1894 -1969
Born in Co. Tipperary. Joined Irish Volunteers 1914. Was not in Dublin in 1916 for Rising however. 
Jan 1919 took part in ambush of explosives at Soloheadbeg. Shot and killed two officers in the attack. Killed two more officers in May of same year while attempting to rescue Sean Hogan, who had also been involved in the Soloheadbeg attack. In 1923 he was captured by free state forces. Went on 12 day hunger and 6 day thirst strike before his release in 1924. Before his arrest he was Cmdt. General 3rd Tipperary Brigade of IRA .
Emigrated to America 1927, and Returned to Ireland in 1932. He had joined Fianna Fail and was elected to post as Deputy in Tipperary. Retired 1965.
