William Allen, Phillip Larkin, and Michael O'Brien. Jailed and executed for shooting a police sergeant while rescuing fellow Fenians Col. T.J. Kelly and Capt. Deasy. They were the first Irishmen killed for political reasons since Emmet in 1803. They all shouted "God Save Ireland" as they left the dock. The song "God Save Ireland" is about them. Edward Condon, another Fenian, was the apparent leader of the group but was released due to american influence. Col. Kelly and Capt. Deasy were never re-captured.
